Prime Ministers of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan and Malaysia Hold Telephone Conversation

The Prime Minister of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, His Excellency Al-Haj Mullah Mohammad Hassan Akhund, held a telephone conversation today with the Prime Minister of Malaysia, Mr. Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

During the conversation, the two sides discussed bilateral relations and the issue of Pakistan’s violation of Afghanistan’s sovereignty.

His Excellency, the Prime Minister, outlined the Islamic Emirate’s principled stance, stating that Afghanistan is not in favor of war; rather, it was the Pakistani side that initiated hostilities by violating Afghanistan’s territorial integrity.

He added that under the leadership of the Minister of National Defense, talks are ongoing with the Pakistani side in Doha, and the Islamic Emirate is respectfully awaiting the outcome of those discussions.

The Prime Minister of Malaysia expressed satisfaction over the commencement of dialogue between Afghanistan and Pakistan following recent tensions and emphasized the need to resolve the issue through diplomatic means.

Mr. Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim also reiterated his readiness to assist in resolving the matter and stressed the importance of continued dialogue.

His Excellency, the Prime Minister, expressed his gratitude to the Malaysian Prime Minister and assured him that the discussions are indeed underway.
