Eid al-Adha Prayer Held at Arg Grand Mosque

The Eid al-Adha prayer was performed this morning at the Arg Grand Mosque in the presence of H.E. Mullah Mohammad Hassan Akhund, Prime Minister of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, along with a number of other senior officials.

The Eid prayer ceremony was also attended by H.E. Mawlawi Abdul Salam Hanafi, Deputy Prime Minister for Administrative Affairs, Dr. Mullah Abdul Wasi, Chief of Staff of the Prime Minister’s Office, ministers, a number of civilian and military officials of the Islamic Emirate, and a large gathering of citizens. After the prayer, participants exchanged Eid greetings.

Prior to the Eid prayer, Sheikh Mohammad Faqir Mohammadi referred to the efforts, hardships, and sacrifices made by Muslims in safeguarding the religion, stating that Muslims must make sacrifices for their faith, maintain sincerity in their acts of worship and charity, and bring happiness to others.

He further added that this system was established through the hardships and sacrifices of the Mujahideen, scholars, ordinary Muslims, and Huffaz, praying that Allah Almighty grant all of us the ability to preserve it with piety, sincerity, and faith, and to keep this system stable and enduring.

Subsequently, Dr. Mullah Abdul Wasi, Chief of Staff of the Prime Minister’s Office, read the Eid al-Adha message of H.E. Mullah Mohammad Hassan Akhund, Prime Minister of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan.

In his message, the Prime Minister extended sincere congratulations on the blessed occasion of Eid al-Adha to all fellow citizens and prayed that Allah Almighty accept the sacrifices, Eid prayers, supplications, charities, and good deeds of Muslims, especially the pilgrims who have gone to the Holy Kaaba to perform the Hajj pilgrimage.

Referring to Hajj and the blessed days of Eid, he stated that these occasions remind Muslims that they believe in one Allah, follow one Prophet (peace be upon him), and accept one Book (the Holy Qur’an). Therefore, they should uphold unity, harmony, and solidarity in all aspects of life.

He further stated that many of the problems and hardships faced by Muslims today are due to disunity and selfishness. Therefore, all Muslims from family and village life to national and global levels must prioritize unity, cooperation, and mutual support, and protect themselves from selfishness, hatred, and jealousy.

The Prime Minister also emphasized that the obligation of sacrifice should revive the spirit of selflessness and devotion among Muslims. He said that every Muslim should prioritize the commands of Allah over their life, children, wealth, and personal desires, and whenever sacrifice is required for the sake of religion, they should be fully prepared to act with sincerity and devotion.

Addressing officials, he instructed them to properly implement their assigned responsibilities and to convey the Islamic Emirate’s message of sincerity, compassion, and sympathy to the people. He added that the government is striving with all its capacity to work for the worldly and hereafter welfare of the nation. He further stated that, by the grace of Allah, Islamic rulings have been implemented in the country, security has been established, and reconstruction efforts are ongoing, with continued efforts to further expand public services for the comfort of the people.

In the concluding part of his message, the Prime Minister instructed officials to pay attention to the conditions of the families of martyrs, persons with disabilities, and orphans within their areas of responsibility, and to listen to the advice, complaints, and concerns of the people. He also directed the Mujahideen and security and defense forces of the Islamic Emirate to remain attentive to their duties during the Eid days. He further called on citizens to assist returning migrants and those affected by earthquakes and floods according to their capacity, so that they do not feel deprived during these blessed days.

At the end of the ceremony, Sheikh Mohammad Faqir Mohammadi prayed that Allah Almighty accept the sacrifices of Muslims, grant them greater unity and solidarity, protect Afghanistan, and unite the souls of the martyrs with those of the martyrs of Uhud and Badr. He also prayed that Allah Almighty illuminate the graves of the late Amir al-Mu’minin Mullah Mohammad Omar Mujahid (may Allah have mercy on him) and the martyred Amir al-Mu’minin Mullah Akhtar Mohammad Mansour (may Allah accept him).
