Deputy Prime Minister for Administrative Affairs Meets with the Chargé d’Affaires of the European Union Delegation in Afghanistan

The Deputy Prime Minister for Administrative Affairs of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, His Excellency Mawlavi Abdul Salam Hanafi, met with Ms. Veronika Boscovic, Chargé d’Affaires of the European Union Delegation in Afghanistan, and her accompanying delegation.

At the outset of the meeting, Ms. Veronika Boscovic remarked that under the administration of the Islamic Emirate, numerous positive developments have taken place across various sectors, which have been widely observed.

Referring to the European Union’s assistance to Afghanistan, particularly its support for returnees and for those affected by the recent earthquake in Kunar province; she stated that the EU is also prepared to cooperate in the treatment of drug addicts in Afghanistan.

She commended the Islamic Emirate’s management of the returnee process and added that the European Union intends to provide further assistance to returnees in the areas of housing and employment.

His Excellency Mawlavi Abdul Salam Hanafi expressed his satisfaction with the meeting with the EU Chargé d’Affaires and her delegation, and he extended his gratitude to the European Union for its support to returning refugees and earthquake victims.

His Excellency also addressed issues related to climate change, natural disasters, and the return of migrants in Afghanistan, calling on regional and international countries to fulfill their responsibilities in safeguarding the rights of refugees.
