H.E. Al-Hajj Mullah Mohammad Hasan Akhund, Prime Minister of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, received the Letter of Credence of Mr. Mirdef bin Ali Alqashouti, the newly appointed Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Afghanistan, this morning during an official ceremonial event.
The ceremony was held at Gulkhana Palace and attended by Mawlavi Amir Khan Muttaqi, Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Dr. Mullah Abdul Wasi, Chief of Staff of the Prime Minister’s Office. H.E. the Prime Minister extended a warm welcome to the new Ambassador.
Following the ceremony, the Ambassador conveyed the greetings and best wishes of the leadership of Qatar to H.E. Al-Hajj Mullah Mohammad Hasan Akhund, reaffirming Qatar’s sincere desire for peace, stability, and continued progress in Afghanistan.
Mr. Mirdef bin Ali Alqashouti expressed his gratitude for the warm reception and stated that it is an honor to begin his mission in Afghanistan as Qatar’s Ambassador. He reiterated his commitment to strengthening bilateral relations and fostering continued cooperation between Qatar and Afghanistan.
H.E. the Prime Minister expressed hope that the new Ambassador’s mission would further enhance diplomatic relations between the two countries and requested that his greetings and best wishes be conveyed to the leadership of Qatar.
The Prime Minister also highlighted the longstanding relations between Afghanistan and Qatar, expressed appreciation for Qatar’s support during challenging times, and expressed optimism for further growth in bilateral cooperation.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, Mawlavi Amir Khan Muttaqi, Minister of Foreign Affairs, welcomed the new Ambassador, recalling his previous interactions with senior officials of the Islamic Emirate at Qatar’s Political Office. He assured the Ambassador of full support and wished him success in his mission.
