Deputy Prime Minister for Administrative Affairs Attends and Addresses Red Crescent Week Ceremony

The Deputy Prime Minister for Administrative Affairs of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, His Excellency Mawlavi Abdul Salam Hanafi, attended and delivered a speech at a ceremony held in honor of Red Crescent Week.

The Deputy Prime Minister expressed his gratitude to the staff of the General Directorate of the Afghan Red Crescent for organizing the event. He said that dedicating a week to the Red Crescent aims to mobilize assistance for needy and affected compatriots.

In his remarks, His Excellency Mawlavi Abdul Salam Hanafi noted that over the past half-century, Afghans have suffered from imposed wars, climate change, and natural disasters such as floods and earthquakes. He added that in the past two years alone, around three million compatriots have been expelled from neighboring and other countries and have returned home. Addressing their challenges and ensuring their permanent settlement and employment opportunities, he said, requires cooperation and assistance from Afghans, national businessmen, philanthropists, and international organizations.

The Deputy Prime Minister called on national businessmen, industrialists, craftsmen, philanthropists, and the entire nation to support and cooperate with the Red Crescent as much as possible so that the institution can continue helping vulnerable groups, such as children with heart defects, those suffering from incurable diseases, returning refugees, and particularly the earthquake victims in Kunar Province, who are in urgent need of assistance.
