Deputy Prime Minister for Administrative Affairs Meets Turkish Ambassador on Farewell Visit

H.E. Mawlawi Abdul Salam Hanafi, Deputy Prime Minister for Administrative Affairs of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, held a farewell meeting with Mr. Cenk Ünal, Turkey’s Ambassador to Afghanistan, and his delegation.

Ambassador Cenk Ünal opened the meeting by expressing his gratitude to the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan for its support during his diplomatic mission, noting that his two-year tenure in Afghanistan had been an honor. He highlighted his efforts to strengthen relations between Turkey and Afghanistan across various sectors, emphasizing that advancing the mutual interests of both countries had been a priority and that significant progress had been achieved.

The Turkish Ambassador also addressed bilateral trade, noting efforts to facilitate the transport of Afghan commercial goods to Turkey and to develop new transportation routes.

In response, H.E. Mawlawi Abdul Salam Hanafi expressed his appreciation for Ambassador Cenk Ünal’s contributions to strengthening bilateral relations and wished him success in his future assignments. He highlighted the historical and cultural ties shared by Afghanistan and Turkey, emphasizing that the two nations have consistently maintained a relationship of friendship and brotherhood.

At the conclusion, the Deputy Prime Minister reaffirmed the Islamic Emirate’s commitment to further expanding cooperation in political, economic, health, and cultural sectors and expressed hope that additional measures would be taken to facilitate the issuance of commercial and medical visas.
