The Chief of Staff of the Office of the Prime Minister of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, Dr. Mullah Abdul Wasi, met with Mr. Ali Reza Bikdeli, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Afghanistan.
At the outset, Dr. Mullah Abdul Wasi welcomed the Iranian Ambassador and expressed his satisfaction regarding the signing of the agreement that brought an end to the war between Iran and the United States.
Mr. Ali Reza Bikdeli described the relations between Afghanistan and Iran as historic and deeply rooted. While expressing his appreciation for the support and sympathy demonstrated by the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan and the Afghan people during the war, he added that this achievement represents a shared success for Iran’s friendly countries. He further noted that, even during the conflict, the economic and political relations between Afghanistan and Iran continued without interruption and that no delays were experienced.
Dr. Mullah Abdul Wasi stated that, as Islamic and neighboring countries, Afghanistan and Iran enjoy strong and inseparable relations.
He stated that the increase in the volume of trade between the two countries, despite the war, demonstrated that the economies and security of Iran and Afghanistan are closely interconnected.
Referring to the return of Afghan refugees to Afghanistan from neighboring countries, Dr. Mullah Abdul Wasi called upon Iran to facilitate the stay and repatriation process for Afghan refugees, noting that such measures would have an even more positive impact on strengthening the friendship between the two countries.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Mr. Ali Reza Bikdeli presented Dr. Mullah Abdul Wasi with an official invitation for the Prime Minister of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan and his accompanying delegation to attend the funeral and burial ceremonies of the late Iranian Supreme Leader, Martyr Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
