H.E. Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund, Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, chaired the regular meeting of the National Procurement Commission today at the Marble Palace. A total of 26 projects were presented to the meeting for approval in accordance with the agenda.
Following discussions, 19 projects worth approximately AFN 2.8 billion were approved, while a number of amendments were introduced to four projects.
Moreover, a designated committee was instructed to re-evaluate the procurement process and the cost of one project.
Similarly, another committee was tasked to negotiate the submitted prices of a project with qualified companies. In addition, one project was re-announced for open bidding after the winning company withdrew from implementation at the agreed price. As a result of this violation, the company was referred to the Debarment Committee.
The approved and amended projects include telecommunications equipment, road construction, electricity transmission and distribution, and several other sectors, which are funded by the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan.
