Statement by the Spokesperson of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan Regarding the United Nations Quarterly Report

A quarterly report has been published by the United Nations that contains inaccurate information about Afghanistan and appears aimed at raising undue concern over the country’s current circumstances.
We categorically reject this report and consider it to be founded on misinformation and driven by an agenda of propagandistic distortion.
The security situation in Afghanistan is presently more stable than at any time in recent history, and the population is living in peace.
Regrettably, institutions such as the United Nations and comparable organizations have persistently presented a misrepresented image of Afghanistan. There are ongoing efforts to portray the national situation in a negative light, to disregard the country's progress, and to amplify isolated incidents in order to instill unwarranted anxiety among the public.
In the aforementioned report, even ordinary criminal acts have been categorized as security-related incidents, despite the fact that such crimes occur at significantly higher rates in numerous other countries compared to Afghanistan.
We reassure our citizens that they should not be alarmed about the security and stability of their country based on the rhetoric of hostile foreign actors. Afghanistan is currently more secure than ever, and the population continues to live peacefully under a governance system rooted in Sharia law.
During the recent Eid al-Adha holidays alone, more than two million Afghans traveled domestically, a clear indication of security, national stability, and the public’s prevailing sense of peace.
