A follow-up meeting, chaired by the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund, was convened at the Marmarin Palace with the participation of officials from relevant ministries. The meeting was dedicated to reviewing and advancing the issues raised during bilateral engagements held on the sidelines of the 17th Summit of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) with the leaders of Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, and Azerbaijan.
As a result of these discussions, specific assignments were delegated to the respective ministries and agencies, with clear directives to diligently fulfill their responsibilities and to submit progress reports to the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs within the stipulated timeframe.
During separate meetings held by the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs on the margins of the 17th ECO Summit with the leaders of several states, a wide range of matters pertaining to Afghanistan’s political and economic relations with the aforementioned countries were addressed. These included trade, transit, transportation, railway infrastructure development, electricity cooperation, visa facilitation for Afghan nationals, joint banking initiatives, and other related issues.
