His Highness Amir al-Mu’minin (May Allah Protect Him) Addresses Assembly of Scholars and Preachers in Kandahar Province

His Highness, Amir al-Mu’minin (may Allah protect him), participated in and delivered a keynote address at a prominent assembly of scholars and preachers held in Kandahar Province. The assembly brought together esteemed scholars representing all 15 districts of the province.
The event was also attended by senior provincial and religious officials, including the Governor and Deputy Governor of Kandahar, the Chief Justice of the Southwest Zone, the Director of the Central Dar al-Ifta, the Director of Jihadi Madrasas, the Head of Religious Media Evaluation, and the Directors of the Departments of Promotion of Virtue and Hajj and Endowments.
The gathering commenced with the recitation of verses from the Holy Qur’an. This was followed by speeches from five scholars and preachers, each representing different districts of the province. They emphasized the Islamic system as a profound blessing from Allah Almighty and a meaningful opportunity for scholars to lead the community and combat corruption.
Subsequently, His Highness, Amir al-Mu’minin (may Allah protect him), addressed the attendees with significant guidance and reflections.
He extended a warm welcome to the scholars, describing the gathering as a blessed assembly convened with sincere intentions. He emphasized that the event was organized for the benefit and well-being of the Muslim community, bringing together many honorable and devoted servants of Allah.
His Highness, Amir al-Mu’minin (may Allah protect him), speaking to the scholars, emphasized that they are among the most esteemed servants of Allah Almighty on earth. He underscored the significant responsibilities they bear and stressed the importance of executing their duties with utmost dedication and integrity.
He added that in society, there are two main groups: the scholars and the rulers, with the general public following their lead. Whichever direction these two take, the people will follow. If Allah guides and reforms these groups, the entire nation will be set on the right path. However, if God forbid these groups become corrupt, the people will inevitably be led astray. He emphasized that the youth of this society are like his own children, and he is fully committed to doing everything within his power to guide and reform them. Insha’Allah, he will fulfill his responsibilities in this regard.
He urged the scholars to increase public awareness regarding the recent surge in traffic accidents that have resulted in numerous fatalities. He emphasized the importance of exercising care to safeguard both one’s own life and the lives of others from reckless behavior.
His Highness also noted that during previous regimes, un-Islamic practices were allowed to flourish, leading many to become disconnected from their faith. Corruption and immorality were widespread, and deliberate efforts were made to distort public perception, encouraging opposition to religion. Extensive resources were invested in this cause, resulting in a generation so unfamiliar with Shari’ah that they now struggle to understand it.
He stated that within an Islamic system, establishing prayer and guiding the people towards reform are fundamental. Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) used to remind his governors that “the most important matter to me among your affairs is your prayer. If your prayer is sound, then your other affairs will also be sound.” Therefore, I formally authorize all Friday prayers currently conducted without prior approval, as long as they fulfill the essential requirements of Jumu’ah, including the consent of the Imam.
His Highness, Amir al-Mu’minin (may Allah protect him), stated that all our laws, decisions, and rulings are fully in accordance with Shari’ah. Their implementation is carefully reviewed and verified at every stage by scholars and experts through thorough research and precision. In applying Shari’ah and educating the people with knowledge and science, let us work together to reform society and unite in this mission.
Officials will also be reformed alongside you. Invite them to the truth, speak the truth to them, and guide them on the right path. It is well known to you that enjoining good and forbidding evil is a vital and sacred duty of Muslims and the Islamic system. A society without this principle faces corruption and the punishment of Allah Almighty.
It is the duty of the esteemed scholars to call the people to the traditions of the Prophet (peace be upon him), encouraging them to align their appearance and conduct according to Shari’ah—such as maintaining the beard, wearing the turban, and other practices—and to protect themselves and their communities from actions that contradict Shari’ah.
At the conclusion, all the esteemed scholars once again renewed their pledge of allegiance to His Highness, Amir al-Mu’minin (may Allah protect him), affirming their commitment to remain steadfast supporters of their leader and the Shariah-based system. The gathering then ended with a supplication offered by His Highness, Amir al-Mu’minin (may Allah protect him). Wasalam
