Deputy Prime Minister for Administrative Affairs Meets Chinese Ambassador

H.E. Mawlawi Abdul Salam Hanafi, Deputy Prime Minister for Administrative Affairs of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, met this morning with Mr. Zhao Xing, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Afghanistan, and his accompanying delegation.

At the meeting, the Chinese Ambassador highlighted the longstanding and close ties between Afghanistan and China, reaffirming their positive relationship and expressing strong interest from Chinese businesses in investing within Afghanistan.

He highlighted that the extraction work for the Mes Aynak project will begin imminently and is expected to contribute significantly to the economic growth of both countries. He further stated that both sides are working closely to enhance and broaden their economic and trade cooperation. Additionally, the Ambassador conveyed his hope that the high-level delegation’s visit from the Islamic Emirate will lead to significant and positive advancements.

In response, H.E. Mawlawi Abdul Salam Hanafi emphasized that during the visit, the delegation will hold discussions with senior officials of the People’s Republic of China, as well as with representatives from academic institutions and major commercial and economic organizations, aiming to strengthen bilateral cooperation.

He added that throughout the visit, alongside presenting the Islamic Emirate’s achievements in various fields, they will assure Chinese traders, investors, and representatives from participating countries at the 9th China-South Asia Expo and Forum of the promising investment opportunities in Afghanistan, encouraging investment across multiple sectors.
