The meeting, held at Gulkhana Palace, was also attended by Acting Foreign Minister Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi and Chief of Staff to the Prime Minister, Dr. Mullah Abdul Wasi. The Prime Minister welcomed the delegation and expressed hope that the visit would help strengthen relations and ongoing cooperation.

The Secretary-General expressed his pleasure in visiting Afghanistan, noting that the country holds a special place in his heart and in that of the broader Muslim world. He emphasized the strong sense of Islamic brotherhood with the Afghan people and highlighted the importance of such gatherings for the unity of the Ummah.

He acknowledged Afghanistan’s rich and dignified history and offered prayers for its continued blessings and prosperity. He highlighted the necessity of Afghanistan’s active participation in international affairs and noted the ongoing challenges—especially the negative impact of extremist factions (Khawarij) on the image of Islam. He pledged the Muslim World League’s continued support to the Islamic Emirate in countering these threats.

Sheikh Al-Issa highlighted Afghanistan’s rich scholarly heritage, expressing his satisfaction with the presence of many distinguished scholars in the country and their active involvement in major international conferences.

He remarked to the Prime Minister of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan that his Foreign Minister is highly capable, and after meeting him in Makkah, his respect and goodwill toward Afghanistan were further strengthened. He also praised the minister’s valuable efforts in promoting Islamic solidarity.

Prime Minister of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan highlighted the longstanding historical ties and cooperation between Afghanistan and Saudi Arabia. He noted that Saudi Arabia has been a key ally, particularly during the jihad against the former Soviet Union, offering substantial support and partnership to the Afghan people and Mujahideen, for which we are profoundly grateful.

The Prime Minister of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan stated that the responsibility of scholars in guiding the Islamic Ummah out of difficulties is even greater than that of governments, as they are the heirs of the Prophets. He urged scholars to use their spiritual and moral influence to pressure the leaders of their countries to take action in resolving the problems faced by Muslims.

He highlighted the brutal oppression, injustice, and violence perpetrated by the Zionist regime against Muslims in Palestine, leading to many martyrs. Despite possessing the necessary resources and capabilities, the broader Islamic world has remained largely silent in response to this ongoing tragedy and suffering. May Allah Almighty instill and empower a spirit of unity and assistance among Muslims globally to stand with the oppressed people of Palestine.

H.E. Al Haji Mullah Mohammad Hassan Akhund, commenting on the visit of the Secretary-General of the Muslim World League, expressed his sincere hope that Allah Almighty will bless this journey with success in promoting Muslim unity, addressing shared challenges, and strengthening ongoing exchanges, relationships, and cooperation between both parties.

The Prime Minister of the Islamic Emirate conveyed his optimism for the ongoing strengthening of ties and collaboration between Afghanistan and Saudi Arabia. Additionally, he urged the Secretary-General of the organization to leverage his influence with the appropriate authorities to secure an increased quota for Afghan pilgrims undertaking the Hajj.

The Secretary-General of the Muslim World League expressed his gratitude to the Prime Minister of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan for his remarks, noting that while he strongly emphasized the effective and active role of scholars, unfortunately, many declarations from the Islamic world lack practical implementation.

He emphasized that the Afghan people represent a vital extension of the Islamic world and consider it an integral part of the broader Muslim community. The situation of Muslims in Gaza is deeply distressing and represents a clear case of genocide. He emphasized that they have consistently and openly condemned the ongoing oppression and atrocities occurring there.

The Secretary-General of the Muslim World League emphasized their full support for the Islamic Emirate, praying that Allah safeguards the Emirate, its officials, and the Afghan nation, and grants them greater success and blessings. He assured that the proposal to increase the quota for Afghan pilgrims would be raised with the relevant authorities, hoping it receives due attention.

The Prime Minister of the Islamic Emirate requested Sheikh Dr. Mohammad bin Abdul Karim Al-Issa to convey his greetings and best wishes to the officials and scholars of Saudi Arabia. He also expressed hope for the continuation of such visits, relations, and cooperation.

At the end of the meeting, Sheikh Dr. Mohammad bin Abdul Karim Al-Issa, Secretary-General of the Muslim World League, gifted the Kiswah of the Kaaba to Al-Haj Mullah Mohammad Hassan Akhund, Prime Minister of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan.
