Sixth Cabinet Meeting: Decisions on the Andkhoy–Sheberghan Railway Project’s Third Phase and Reduction of Urban Planning Permit Fees

The sixth meeting of the Cabinet of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan convened today under the chairmanship of His Excellency, Prime Minister Alhaj Mullah Mohammad Hassan Akhund.

The session, which opened with the recitation of verses from the Holy Qur’an, addressed and resolved key national economic, social, and cultural matters.

During the meeting, the Cabinet approved the Ministry of Public Works’ request to acquire the third phase of the Andkhoy–Sheberghan railway project, a decision described as a significant step forward for the country’s railway sector.

In addition, the Cabinet endorsed the Ministry of Urban Development and Housing’s proposal to reduce by 50 percent the fees for maps and permits required by Emirate institutions, a measure expected to accelerate construction activities.

The meeting concluded with prayers following detailed discussions on a range of issues.
