H.E. Mawlawi Abdul Salam Hanafi, Deputy Prime Minister for Administrative Affairs and Chairman of the High Commission for Addressing Refugee Issues, accompanied by Herat Governor Sheikh Noor Ahmad Islam Jar and other relevant officials, visited Islam Qala Port in Herat Province to oversee the repatriation process of Afghan returnees from Iran.
During the visit, the Deputy Prime Minister closely examined the conditions of the returnees and issued necessary instructions to the relevant authorities to ensure a timely response and improved service delivery.
The Deputy Prime Minister oversaw the registration, temporary relocation, healthcare, and transfer of returnees. He appreciated the expansion of clinics and ambulances, the financial management, and commended the dedicated efforts of the teams.
The Deputy Prime Minister attentively heard the concerns, suggestions, and needs of the returnee compatriots and directed the relevant authorities to urgently prioritize and address their fundamental challenges.
H.E. Mawlawi Abdul Salam Hanafi stressed the importance of enhancing support for returnees by improving healthcare, transportation, resettlement services, and job opportunities.
