A regular session of the Economic Commission, chaired by the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, Al-Haj Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund, was convened today at Marmarin Palace.
The economic policy of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan was presented for deliberation during the session and was subsequently approved following a comprehensive assessment.
The vision articulated in the policy is:
“A developed and prosperous Afghanistan based on an Islamic economic system.”
The stated objectives include:
Establishing a favorable environment for attracting and expanding investment,
Increasing domestic production and exports,
Enhancing employment opportunities and reducing poverty,
Achieving sustainable economic growth and development,
Ensuring economic stability, prosperity, and Islamic social justice.
The economic policy is anticipated to contribute significantly to the coordination of national economic activities, the optimal utilization of resources, and the advancement of the private sector.
Additionally, during the session, the Ministry of Finance was directed to allocate the necessary budget in the fiscal year 1404 for the extension of the electricity network to 13 villages in the Pul-e-Khumri area of Baghlan province, and for the Da Afghanistan Brishna Shirkat (DABS) to undertake the implementation of the project.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the proposal to construct a commercial market on land owned by the Ministry of Guidance, Hajj and Religious Affairs in Balkh province was approved. According to the proposal, the private sector will invest 740 million Afghanis to construct an eight-story commercial market comprising a total of 878 shops.
Likewise, the proposal to establish a commercial market on municipal land in Sar-e-Pul province was also approved. Under this proposal, the private sector will invest 96 million Afghanis to construct a standard commercial market.
These resolutions were submitted to the Office of His Highness, the Amir al-Mu’minin (may Allah Almighty protect him), for final approval.
