H.E. Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund, Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, inaugurated the construction of the Spin Zar Commercial Township in Takhar Province today.
At the beginning of his remarks, the Deputy Prime Minister prayed for the martyrs to be granted paradise and for the swift recovery of those injured in last night’s earthquake in the eastern provinces. He extended his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families, expressed solidarity with the victims in their time of grief, and assured that the relevant authorities of the Islamic Emirate are actively responding, having already reached the affected areas with the resources at their disposal.
Subsequently, at the inauguration ceremony of the Spin Zar Commercial Township construction works in Takhar, the Deputy PM emphasized that alongside the public sector, private sector investment at all levels is a crucial component of national economic growth, which the Islamic Emirate fully supports. He underscored that investment in both services and productive infrastructure is essential for economic progress, as it enhances industrial capacity, promotes exports, generates employment, and ultimately increases state revenue.
The Deputy PM underscored the significance of constructing this large commercial township in Takhar, stating that it will have a positive impact on the economic and social well-being of the people.
The Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, speaking on behalf of the Islamic Emirate, assured businessmen and investors that their issues will be resolved promptly and that comprehensive support will be provided across all sectors.
It is noteworthy that the Spin Zar Commercial Township in Takhar Province will feature markets for grains, fruits, onions and potatoes, construction materials, and pharmaceuticals, with a total investment of 2.45 billion Afghanis under a public–private partnership. The township is being developed on 60 jeribs of land, with the grain market inaugurated today and construction of the remaining four markets already underway. Once completed, the Spin Zar Commercial Township will accommodate over 2,000 shops and generate thousands of job opportunities for citizens.
In Takhar, the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs inaugurated private sector projects spanning car dealerships, car wash facilities, carpentry workshops, and construction offices, with a total investment of 180 million Afghanis.
