Regular Meeting of the National Procurement Commission Convened

The regular meeting of the National Procurement Commission was convened at the Margarine Palace under the chairmanship of Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund, Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs.

In accordance with the agenda, 29 projects were submitted to the National Procurement Commission for approval. Following deliberations, two projects received approval, 24 were amended, and two were cancelled. Furthermore, it was resolved that one project be referred to a designated committee to negotiate the cost with the selected companies and submit a report in the forthcoming session of the National Procurement Commission.

The amended and approved projects include: the construction of a ramp at Ahmad Shah Baba International Airport in Kandahar Province; the rehabilitation of both rail and non-rail infrastructure of the Hairatan–Mazar-i-Sharif railway; the construction of the first and second segments of the road from Kunar to Nuristan; the rehabilitation of the Shamalan Canal in Nawa District of Helmand Province; the installation of security cameras at customs offices nationwide; and the procurement of essential equipment for electricity-related projects in various provinces.

These projects are financed by the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan.
