Islamic Emirate Oversees Signing of Power Agreements Worth 9,407 Megawatts

In the presence of the Deputy Prime Ministers of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan for Economic and Administrative Affairs, Al-Haj Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund and His Excellency, Mawlavi Abdul Salam Hanafi, agreements and memoranda were signed at the Intercontinental Hotel during the Conference on Investment Promotion and Support for Afghanistan’s Power Sector.

Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat (DABS) and several investor companies signed memoranda of understanding for the production of 9,123 megawatts of electricity and the construction of power infrastructure, along with contracts for the production of 284 megawatts of electricity.

In addition, practical work has commenced on projects between Uzbekistan and Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat (DABS) involving an investment of 250 million USD. These include the extension of the Surkhan–Pul-e-Khumri 500-kilovolt transmission line, expansion of the Alwan Dasht substation, expansion of the Arghandi substation, as well as the extension of a 220-kilovolt transmission line to the Sheikh Mesri substation and its expansion.
