H.E. Mawlawi Abdul Salam Hanafi, Deputy Prime Minister for Administrative Affairs, met with Herat Governor Sheikh Noor Ahmad Islamjar this afternoon.
During the meeting, Governor Islamjar presented an overview of the progress and initiatives undertaken by Islamic Emirate officials in Herat, emphasizing their commitment to social welfare and addressing local challenges. He also reported a significant increase in the number of returnees entering through the Islam Qala border, noting that local authorities are actively working to provide essential services and facilitate their smooth and dignified reintegration into their home communities.
He expressed appreciation for the people of Herat for their support to returnees and reiterated his commitment to ensuring their care and well-being.
In response, H.E. Mawlawi Abdul Salam Hanafi expressed his appreciation for the meeting and praised the efforts of the Mujahideen and provincial officials in effectively addressing the challenges faced by returning migrants.
He added that despite the rising number of deportations from Iran, the Islamic Emirate, in close coordination with the honorable people of Herat, has effectively managed the migrant situation. He extended his sincere gratitude to local officials and the people of Herat for their dedicated efforts and continued support.
